SCIENCE CLUB: Dues are $10 without a shirt, $15 with a shirt and are due on Friday, Aug. 31st.
PICTURE DAY: Picture day is Friday, Aug. 31st.
Biology:
We will be finishing up our Kaplan Foundations Prep and will be talking about PLAN test strategies. We will also be taking a practice test on Monday.
Biology EOC standards will be handed out and Ecology will begin at the end of the week.
Honors Biology:
Study guide for Anatomy Ch. 1 will be given on Monday.
Test for Anatomy Ch. 1 will be given on Wednesday.
Chapter 3 over Cells will begin on Thursday.
ESP:
We will be starting a Solar System Project on Monday. It will be due on Wed, Sept. 5th. Students will draw out of a bag an object associated with the solar system and create a visual as well as a written report over the object. It is worth 100 points. Visuals can include poster board size drawings, paintings, etc, but can not be created with printed off or magazine pictures of the object. It must be an original work. The report is to be one page long and include information researched and learned about the object.

Week of Aug 20-24, 2012
Biology:
Finishing up Kaplan ACT Foundations prep for PLAN test that is scheduled for all Sophomores on September 25th.
-Did a lab on Friday where students came up with various data by polling classmates. They then created a data table and graph to represent the collected data.
-This week we will be Analyzing Data Trends, Evaluating Conflicting Viewpoints and Analyzing Experiments.
Reminder: Pop Notebook Grades can be given at any time.

Beginning Body Organization and related Terminology.
Friday: Quiz over Anatomical Terms: Page 16-17 (abdominal to vertebral).
Chapter 1 Test: Tuesday 28th.

Continuing Solar System Information with the Inner and Outer planets.
-Planetary Organizer and Research on Wednesday.
-Video over Apollo 13 on Thursday
-Lab on Planetary Distances on Friday.

Busy Week Ahead
Biology: Test Tuesday over Ch. 32 Animals and all other Cumulative content. Quiz Thursday over Animal cell and tissue physiology/function. Friday we move from animals to plants.
Pictures of Animal dissection lab will be included in this post.
ESP: Test Wednesday over the Earth's Atmopshere. On Thursday and Friday we will be watching The Day After Tomorrow. The winners of the Atmosphere Projects are as follows:
4th Period: Chelsey Crawford, Rocky Harris, Marcus Hurt, Brooke Massey, Aaron McClam, and Jevon Vinson.
6th Period: Caitlin Adams, Stacey Fujisawa, Peyton Rodriguez, and Ray Spurlin.

Week of Jan 30-Feb3
Biology : This week we are starting off with a Protist Lab (Pictures to soon follow). There are four organisms that will be observed, identified and classified. One organism has been thrown in that is not a Protist. The rest of the week we will be going over Taxonomy, Binomial Nomenclature and Dichotomous Keys.
ESP: This week we are shifting gears from Rocks to Weathering and Erosion processes. On Friday 3rd there will be a cumulative test over Ch. 21 section 3 (Rocks) and section 4 (Weathering/Erosion).
